Who we are
This policy is issued by Sicily & Savile Bespoke, 70 12th Street, Parkhurst, Johannesburg 2193, South Africa. Telephone 084 798 0359. Email info@sicilyandsavile.co.za. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here. Questions about this policy, or requests to our Information Officer, may be sent to the email address above.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to advise you and make your garments:
- your name, telephone number, email address and, for private visits or delivery, a physical address;
- your body measurements, posture and fit notes, and your design, cloth and style choices;
- photographs taken during fittings, only with your consent;
- records of your orders, quotations, payments and correspondence with us.
We do not store card numbers. Card payments are processed by the payment provider concerned under its own security standards.
How we use it
We use your personal information to arrange consultations and fittings, cut and make your garments, keep your pattern so that future garments fit, communicate with you about your order, keep accounting and tax records, and meet our legal obligations. We process it on the basis of your consent, to perform our agreement with you, to comply with the law, or for our legitimate interests in running the business, as POPIA permits.
Marketing
We will only send you news, invitations or offers by electronic communication if you have agreed to receive them or you are an existing client and the message relates to similar services. Every message lets you opt out, and you may also opt out at any time by emailing us.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with parties who help us serve you, such as our email and website hosting providers, payment providers and couriers, each of which acts as an operator under a duty of confidentiality and security, and with authorities where the law requires it. Where a provider stores information outside South Africa, we share it only where the recipient is bound by laws, binding rules or an agreement giving protection substantially similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to prevent loss, damage, unauthorised destruction and unlawful access to your personal information. If we have reasonable grounds to believe your information has been accessed by an unauthorised person, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your measurements and pattern for as long as you remain a client, so that your garments can be remade or altered, and delete them on request. Order and payment records are kept for the periods required by South African tax and company law. Thereafter information is deleted or de-identified.
Your rights
You may ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information and to provide a record of it, to correct or delete it, or to stop processing it, and you may object to its use for marketing at any time. Send your request to the email address above; we may ask you to verify your identity first. Requests for access to records may also be made under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Children
Garments for anyone under 18 are ordered through a parent or guardian, who provides consent on their behalf.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it last changed, and the current version is always published on this page.
